About the role
The CEO has full end-to-end accountability for Giant Finance+, the Giant Group recruitment finance business, including sales performance, profit and loss, credit underwriting, risk oversight, and stakeholder engagement. The role requires a senior leader who can drive profitable growth while maintaining strong credit discipline, robust governance, and confidence among shareholders, funders, and other key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities of the role
* Full ownership of the profit and loss account, including revenue growth, margin management, cost control, and profitability.
* Set and deliver annual budgets, financial forecasts, and return-on-capital targets.
* Lead sales strategy and personally sponsor key client, broker, and strategic partner relationships.
* Ensure pricing and structures reflect credit risk, cost of capital, and operational complexity.
Credit Underwriting & Risk Oversight (Core Accountability)
* Ultimate responsibility for credit underwriting standards, risk appetite, and portfolio quality.
* Chair the Credit Committee and set underwriting authorities and escalation thresholds.
* Approve complex, high-value, or higher-risk recruitment finance transactions.
* Oversee portfolio monitoring, including arrears, dilution, debtor performance, and concentration risk.
* Oversee management of stressed accounts, recoveries, and exit strategies where required.
* Define and execute the business strategy in line with shareholder objectives.
* Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing senior leadership team.
* Embed a culture of commercial accountability, disciplined risk management, and strong governance.
* Ensure strong cross sell across the group
* Represent the business externally within the recruitment, finance, and wider professional services sectors.
* Act as the primary interface with shareholders and group directors, providing clear communication on strategy, performance, risk, and outlook.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, credit insurers and suppliers, ensuring confidence in credit quality and governance.
* Engage with regulators, auditors, legal advisers, and other external stakeholders as required.
Operations & Financial Management
* Ensure operational processes support accurate underwriting, funding, and risk monitoring.
* Work closely with the Finance Director on funding structures, liquidity management, and capital efficiency.
* Ensure high-quality management information and reporting for board and stakeholder review.
* Support automation and use of AI
Governance, Compliance & Controls
* Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and funder requirements.
* Maintain robust governance frameworks, policies, and internal controls.
* Act as senior escalation point for financial, credit, operational, or reputational risks.
Your ideal experience & competencies
Ideally you would have a significant leadership experience (8–15+ years) in invoice finance, factoring, or ABL, with at least several years supporting recruitment agency funding. Proven capability to assess high-level credit decisions. Excellent communication skills and with credibility with shareholders, funders, and board-level stakeholders. Strong commercial judgement supported by disciplined risk awareness.
