The Role
This position is within our Saab Seaeye Business Unit. You will gain in-depth knowledge of our products, assembling ROV components, and performing testing and fault analysis on returned products.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manufacture and repair electro-mechanical assemblies.
2. Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics for assembly and fault diagnosis.
3. Ensure high standards in soldering and electrical loom wiring.
4. Assist with pressure and soak testing of components.
5. Maintain proficiency with relevant IT systems.
6. Work on complex medium to large electro-mechanical and hydraulic assemblies at the component level.
7. Apply 6S principles and lean initiatives.
8. Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet objectives.
9. Act ethically and with integrity, prioritizing safety and quality.
10. Manage time effectively to maximize productivity.
11. Use judgment and initiative to resolve day-to-day challenges.
12. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Required Skills
1. Ability to interpret electro-mechanical and hydraulic schematics.
2. Proven mechanical engineering knowledge and experience.
3. Understanding of electronic manufacturing practices (e.g., IPC standards).
4. Ability to diagnose electrical faults to PCB level, with component-level diagnostics advantageous.
5. Formal qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
6. Experience with electronic testing equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, megger).
