Maintenance Engineer with Welding Experience
Strathmore Foods Ltd are Scotland’s leading producer of traditional, quality meals for today’s consumer. Established in 1973 and based in Forfar, Angus, we offer a wide range of delicious Scottish products, through the McIntosh, Scottish Favourites and Strathmore Foodservice brands. We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer with a welding experience to join our dedicated maintenance team. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our equipment and facilities.
Responsibilities
* Perform routine preventative maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment to minimize downtime.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
* Execute welding repairs on various materials (e.g., steel, aluminium) using different techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) to fix damaged components.
* Fabricate new parts and modify existing equipment as needed to improve performance or address specific issues.
* Collaborate with the production team to schedule maintenance and repairs to limit disruption.
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or a similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
* Self-motivated with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
* Experience with PLC systems, hydraulic machinery, and pneumatic systems is a plus.

Salary : £38,000 - £42,000 per year depending on experience.
