The Role
As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with:
* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
* Communication and interaction difficulties
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support in and out of class, helping students access the curriculum
* Supporting emotional regulation, social skills development, and positive behaviour strategies
* Implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and contributing to progress reviews
* Collaborating closely with teachers, the SENCo, and external professionals such as Educational Psychologists and Speech and Language Therapists
* Creating a safe, supportive environment where students feel valued and understood
* Keeping accurate records of interventions and progress
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an enthusiastic, empathetic and resilient graduate who:
* Holds a degree (Psychology, Education, English, Linguistics or related fields are advantageous)
* Has a genuine interest in working with young people with SEND
* Demonstrates strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
* Is proactive, reflective and eager to learn
Experience working with children or young people (voluntary or paid) is desirable but not essential – training will be provided.
