Medical Secretary

Platinum Medical Centre, NW8 7JA

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Shifts: 9AM - 5PM (flexible to suit as long as the hours worked cover the clinics)

This role is permanently on site

Contract: Permanent

We’re looking for a highly experienced Medical Secretary to join our team based in the Platinum Medical Centre. In this role you will be supporting 3 Consultant Neurophysiologists and 3 physiologists.

As a Medical Secretary you’ll be responsible for ensuring the continued provision of the highest quality of secretarial and administrative support. Duties will include providing full secretarial support to consultants, being responsible for the appropriate management of patient appointments, liaising with patients and hospital staff as required in order to facilitate this. You will also undertake any other duties as called upon to carry out by the Practice Manager.

What you’ll do:

1. Provide full secretarial support to the Consultants practice (including audio-typing of clinical/non-clinical material, reports etc) including those of a sensitive nature, whilst maintaining confidentiality.

2. At consultants’ request arrange admissions, request investigations and obtain test results using hospital data systems. Draw consultants’ immediate attention to results deemed abnormal or urgent.

3. Manage other correspondence and telephone contacts appropriately.

4. Manage the reception, greet patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanour, ensuring they feel supported and valued from the moment they arrive.

5. Maintain and file accurate patient records, including appropriate patient case note filing, and preparation of relevant clinic notes prior to Outpatient Clinics.

What you’ll bring:

6. Must have Medical Secretarial or similar experience.

7. Experience in a patient-facing/customer facing role.

8. Significant understanding of Medical terminology.

9. Strong, accurate typing skills are essential.

10. Computer literacy.

11. Excellent communication skills.

12. Neurophysiology/Physiology experience is desirable
