Role Responsibilities:To carry out proof testing and legality checking of car components to specified standardsTo carry out development work on car components to specified standardsTo take responsibility for the build and execution of R&D tests including sensor setup, data logging and the post processing of dataTo digitally record and document all critical information and data from tests performed in accordance with the test request and specifications then subsequently integrate this information into company systems and formats for reporting and future recallTo competently and safely operate all test benches and equipment that are pertinent to your role and any associated software tasks that may be implemented.Support requests and test demand as directed by the R&D Test Manager, liaising with engineers from across the company and keeping key stakeholders informed of progress at each stageContribute to the good housekeeping and continuous improvement of the R&D workshopTo manage own workload effectively, meeting tight deadlines where required and support general departmental workload as requiredTo chair, attend and proactively participate in meetings as requiredTo work proactively, responsibly, and professionally at all times and to respect and comply with the company’s reporting structureAny other duties as reasonably requested aligned to your job roleEssential Skills & Knowledge Required :Possess an excellent working knowledge of assembly techniques for both small and large scale test assembliesPossess a thorough understanding of a range of car components, their purpose and the critical performance and reliability aspects of their behaviourContinue to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of structural proof testing, durability and fatigue testing and systems sign off and their importance for good reliability of our car at the race trackPossess an excellent standard of IT literacy in company PLM systems, Microsoft Excel and Word, ATLAS and System Monitor and other data logging packagesUse initiative and analytical thinking along with a methodical and structured approach to your workTo be self-motivated and actively motivate peers to thrive in a challenging environmentEducated to a Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant/transferable fieldDemonstrate a positive and “can do” attitudeAdopt a consistent and positive approach in times of pressure and high workload to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescalesBuild effective relationships within own department and with other key contacts across the TeamTo communicate effectively, positively, and respectfully with all colleagues whilst demonstrating an awareness of peers’ workloads and priorities Actively seek to build a thorough understanding of areas of the business that affect the R&D DepartmentBe results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skillsExperience in a relevant field within in a Formula One environment / high level Motorsport environmentPreference will be given to applicants who have experience in a relevant role either in motorsport or another high performance industry.
