Role Description We’re looking for a professionally qualified Senior R&D Tax Manager to play a vital role in the delivery and growth of our R&D tax offering, combining strong technical oversight, commercial awareness, and people leadership. You’ll contribute to the successful delivery of complex R&D tax relief claims (SME & RDEC) by providing technical guidance, shaping best practice, and supporting team performance. You’ll also bring a strong commercial mindset, helping to grow the R&D service and line and develop junior team members.
Responsibilities Key responsibilities include:
Providing technical oversight and guidance on complex R&D tax matters
Coaching, mentoring, and developing junior consultants
Supporting the delivery of R&D tax claims across a varied client portfolio
Managing workflow, resourcing, and priorities across the R&D team
Developing and embedding R&D methodologies, processes, and quality standards
Identifying commercial opportunities and supporting business growth
Holding regular one-to-ones and contributing to performance reviews
Supporting business development, proposals, and feasibility assessments
Keeping up to date with R&D legislation, HMRC guidance, and emerging risk areas
