Job Description
We are currently recruiting a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Schematic Engineer to join our Electronic, Controls and Software team. Collaborating with the Head and Principals of Electronic, Controls and Software, you will be responsible for undertaking and guiding a range of designs from initial concepts through to prototype production working closely with other Engineering departments.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organisational skills working with key stakeholders to achieve successful designs, often working to tight deadlines. A key focus will be on understanding design capabilities and what we can do to influence it, be that technology, procedures or training. You will use your relationships with the different Vehicle Engineering groups to educate them on best practice.
As Senior Electrical Schematic Engineer, you will be:
* Collaborating effectively with departments such as Aerodynamics, Transmissions, Powertrains, Garage and Pit Equipment to ensure seamless integration.
* Conducting design reviews within the team and on a larger scale across Vehicle Engineering.
* Checking and approving design specifications and checking drawings for production.
* Managing related processes such as faults, track testing requests and accident damage assessments.
* Promoting best design practice and driving continuous improvement.
* Developing and writing technical operating procedures and specifications for car systems.
* Regularly attending meetings for planning, resourcing and fault liaison.
* Mentoring less experienced engineers within the team.
Our ideal candidate is someone who has:
* An in depth understanding of fundamental Electrical engineering principles.
* Strong knowledge of electrical fundamentals, communication lines, CANbus systems, Ethernet, sensor theory, and sensor types.
* Experience with Siemens Capital schematic design toolset.
* A relevant degree or equivalent qualification supported by design experience in a top-level motorsport field.
* Strong CAD skills, ideally with experience of NX, however training will be provided for conversion from other CAD systems.
* An innovative approach to design & In-depth understanding of electrical and electronic assemblies.
* Experience with Raychem harness systems, Autosport connectors, and Motorsport ECU systems is also highly desirable.
* Confidence, and is well organised with the ability to clearly prioritise tasks and make sound decisions based on good judgement, seeking input as required.
* Data analysis experience with the ability to interpret data and trends.
