The job in a nutshell:
The Fulfilment Lead plays a hands-on leadership role in the fulfilment department ensuring accurate, efficient, and timely order processing while managing a team of associates and temporary workers. This position balances productivity, quality, safety, and team morale.
What you will do:
* Provide leadership and day-to-day supervision of fulfilment staff.
* Train and coach team members to adhere to process guidelines, maintain high productivity, uphold quality standards, and comply with safety procedures.
* Address and resolve employee issues and promoting positive employee relations.
* Balance and continuously improve on multiple operational metrics: quality, productivity, cost, and safety.
* Maintain effective housekeeping and cleanliness in work areas.
* Monitor departmental performance and report progress to the manager.
* Assist across various functions as needed, adapting to dynamic workflow demands.
* Oversee order processing operations; picking, packing, shipping, staging, and handling returns—ensuring accuracy and timely fulfilment.
* Use warehouse and order management systems (Business Central) effectively and maintain inventory accuracy.
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams; sales, procurement, shipping carriers—to resolve discrepancies and meet fulfilment goals.
* Prepare reports on monthly performance metrics and suggest optimisations where necessary.
Experience
* Proven experience in hand spraying, preferably within the glass decorating or related industries
* Strong attention to detail to match colours accurately, using both manual techniques and digital tools where necessary.
* Experience working with a range of paints and decorative coatings suitable for glass.
* Excellent attention to detail and a strong eye for quality.
* Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for glass decoration.
* Understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly in relation to working with chemicals and spray equipment.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Attributes What you need to be successful:
•Leadership experience in fast-paced fulfilment or warehouse environments; prior experience coordinating staff.
•Strong communication skills and ability to coach, resolve conflicts, and guide team members.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and familiarity with inventory/order management software.
•Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
•Process improvement mindset; comfortable monitoring performance, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing solutions.
•(Preferred) Forklift licence.
•Ability to occasionally handle manual tasks depending on operational needs
