Armstrong World Industries (AWI) has a job opportunity for an Electrical Designer to be located in Lancaster, PA. Reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing Technical Support Design, the Electrical Designer will serve as a valuable technical resource providing Electrical Design support to our manufacturing facilities. Additionally, the Electrical Designer will be responsible for electrical design for manufacturing equipment/system design and fabrication.

:Responsible for creating drawings of electrical schematics, control panel layouts, power, instrument, control cable schedules, grounding plan/grid, junction box wiring diagrams, control panel layout, wiring diagrams, substation equipment, powerhouse and MCC building plans, installation details and field wiring layouts for industrial equipment and systems

:Performs minor to moderate engineering design computations and reviews results with internal and external customers

:Designs equipment and systems for reliability and ease of maintenance

:Prepares drawing packages to support engineering specifications

:Ensures adherence to applicable codes and standards within discipline

:Participates in pre:appropriation meetings to determine project requirements

:Translates design requirements into specific design configurations

:Participates in the development of electrical design and process standards

:Ensures designs are properly recorded and archived

:Works with manufacturing and field personnel in performing shop and on:site field check outs and commissioning of installed electrical systems

:Diagnoses operating problems and resolves process and equipment issues

:AS in Electrical Engineering Technology or BSMET/SMME (ABET accredited) is highly desired, but 5 years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

:Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical design and drafting of industrial manufacturing equipment.

:Proficiency with AutoCAD

:Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

:Knowledgeable of NFPA 70 National Electric Code (NEC)
