We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Vale of Glamorgan to assist with the appointment of a Kitchen Assistant, on a 1-day contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £12.21- £15.48 per hour
Summary:
The Kitchen Assistant will support the provision of high-quality catering services within schools, care settings, or other council-run establishments. This includes assisting with food preparation, serving meals, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals under supervision.
* Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, dining, and food storage areas.
* Operate kitchen equipment safely and in accordance with training and guidelines.
* Clean utensils, equipment, and surfaces according to cleaning schedules.
* Assist with unloading food deliveries and storing goods appropriately.
Experience:
* Experience working in a catering environment, preferably in schools, care homes, or hospitality settings.
* Experience working as part of a team in a busy kitchen.
Essentials:
* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain upon appointment).
* Level 2 Food Safety qualification.
* NVQ in Catering/Hospitality or equivalent experience.
