The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Developer to join our growing team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality digital services on major Central Government programmes.
This role requires a strong full-stack background, a passion for modern engineering practices, and experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications
* Contribute to microservices and event-driven architectures
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, and DevOps
* Build secure, resilient, and high-performing systems in AWS environments
* Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous improvement practices
* Engage with stakeholders and contribute to technical decision-making
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience working on Central Government projects
* Strong expertise in:
* Node.js
* React
* Angular
* AWS
* Terraform
* Experience working in Agile delivery environments
* Eligible for BPSS clearance
Technical Skills
Backend & Frontend:
* Java (11) including Spring Boot, Dropwizard, Hibernate, Jersey, CXF, Maven
* JavaScript (Node.js, Express, Mongoose, Sequelize, Gulp)
Architecture & Messaging:
* Microservices and event-driven architecture
* Messaging tools such as ActiveMQ/RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka
* API Gateways (e.g. Kong or equivalent)
DevOps & CI/CD:
* Git, GitLab CI, Jenkins
* SonarQube, Nexus, Artifactory
Cloud:
* Strong AWS experience (designing, deploying, and maintaining services)
