Substance Misuse Recovery Worker
Location: Derby (S41 7TH) Pay Rate: £20-£21 per hour (Umbrella) Contract: Temporary (with potential extension) Working Pattern: 4 days per week Start Date: ASAP
Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join a well-established service in Derby. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong multi-agency experience, particularly within probation, criminal justice, or homelessness services.You will play a key role in supporting individuals with complex needs, helping them progress through their recovery journey while working collaboratively with partner agencies.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of service users with substance misuse needs
* Deliver structured key working sessions, recovery plans, and risk assessments
* Work closely with probation services and criminal justice agencies
* Support individuals transitioning from prison or probation into the community
* Make referrals to external services, including:
o Mental health services
o Housing / homelessness support
o Domestic violence services
* Facilitate or support group interventions and workshops
* Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records (System 1 desirable)
Requirements
* Experience within substance misuse or a related field
* Background in at least one of the following:
o Probation / Criminal Justice
o Homelessness services
o Mental health
* Ability to manage complex caseloads and high-risk clients
* Strong communication and engagement skills
