Job Description
Shift Pattern:
1. 3ON 3OFF nights - 18:00pm-06:00am.
Salary:
2. Basic - £15.81 per hour
3. Overtime - £18.47 per hour.
Your job duties will include but not limited to the following.
4. Observing and adhering to company rules, site procedures and all aspects of Health & Safety and Hygiene at all times
5. Effectively managing own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive
6. Liaising with colleagues and ensuring completion of shift report
7. Conducting daily checks, immediately reporting any defects and / or damage and completing associated documentation
8. Carrying out trailer checks on loaded trailers and report to ops staff
9. Completing trailer checklist and reporting to operations desk
10. Carrying out shunting duties including relevant maintenance and safety checks
11. Liaising with the warehouse control and goods in staff to ensure smooth and efficient loading / unloading of trailers
12. Completing vehicles downloads as per the company policy
13. Monitoring services / MOTs – liaising with Transport Office and with service vendor
14. Assisting with fuel delivery / manual dip of fuel
15. Keeping yard in clean / tidy condition
16. Liaising with Transport Office as and when required i.e. special promotions and / or livery schedules
17. Manage the flow of traffic in and out of the yard
Qualifications
18. A Full C+E, CPC and Tacho Card would be advantageous.
19. Previous experience of Shunting will be essential.
20. Attention to detail / accurate
21. Ability to work without direct supervision
22. Adaptable and methodical approach to work / training
23. Conscientious and reliable
24. Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information
25. Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
