Join Babcock’s 4‑year Engineering Trades Apprenticeship as an Electrical Fitter Apprentice. You will learn to design, install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on Royal Navy vessels and commercial engineering projects.

Level: SCQF Level 7 | Start Date: August 2026 | Closing Date: 12 March 2026
Salary– Year 1: £15,974; Year 2: £22,857; Year 3: £25,728; Year 4: £29,274; Post‑Apprenticeship:£39,129
Year‑by‑Year Structure– Year 1: Fife College full‑time; Year 2: full‑time work; Year 3: full‑time work (one day per week in college if pursuing HNC); Year 4: workplace only.
Responsibilities
You will work with the Engineering Technician team to:
* Build, maintain, and refit ships and submarines, including the Type 31 Frigate Programme and UK Submarine Dismantling Programme.
* Install, maintain, repair, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances.
* Interpret electrical engineering drawings and specifications.
* Support daily site operations by maintaining high and low voltage networks, robotic panel lines, and CNC machinery.
* Apply health & safety, planning and documentation standards, and engineering principles.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 4 National 5s at grade C or above, including Maths, English, and a Science or Technical subject.
* Interest in the trade, willingness to learn, ask questions, and collaborate.
* Ability to follow instructions and prioritize safety.
* Team player with respect for colleagues, customers, and supervisors.
* Willingness to obtain BPSS and SC clearance (security clearance required).
