Job description
Post Title: Nurture Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Reporting to: Phase Leader
Work Pattern: 39 weeks (term time only), fixed-term with potential to extend
Working Hours: 37.5 hours/week
JOB PURPOSE: To support curriculum delivery, assist in planning, monitor and assess pupils, promote inclusion, and support pupils' welfare. The successful candidate will receive training from Nurture UK and coordinate with staff supporting interventions.
Main Duties
Planning
* Plan and prepare lessons, develop resources, and contribute to out-of-school learning opportunities.
Teaching and Learning
* Teach classes during staff absence, provide feedback, motivate pupils, support inclusion, manage behaviour, and assist with pupil progress monitoring.
Monitoring and Assessment
* Assess pupil responses, monitor participation, maintain records, and contribute to reports.
Mentoring, Supervision and Development
* Support and guide other assistants, contribute to school policies, and attend meetings and training.
Behavioural and Pastoral
* Promote positive behaviour, support pupils' pastoral needs, maintain relationships with parents, and supervise students outside lessons.
Other
* Lunchtime duties, First Aid, and other duties as required, adhering to health and safety and equal opportunity policies.
Person Specification
Qualifications: GCSE English & Maths at grade C/4 or above, HLTA qualification or equivalent. Desirable: Degree.
Experience: Experience or interest in nurture to support children with ACEs, school environment, and parent interaction.
