My client is seeking a coded welder to join their growing team near Fishguard. All necessary tooling and any additional requirements will be supplied. As this is a new prototype design, the welder will be expected to work closely with the engineering team, offering practical input and expert advice to resolve fabrication challenges and ensure structural integrity and quality throughout the build. This project involves the production of a completely new prototype, requiring a high standard of workmanship and close collaboration with our engineering team. The primary scope of work consists of MAG welding (ISO4063), predominantly using Structural Steel S355J2 and mild steel. There may be minor welding of additional steel grades as required to support the overall build. Most components have been laser cut and folded prior to delivery, allowing for efficient fit-up and assembly. Material thicknesses range from 4 mm to 15 mm, with the majority falling within the 4–8 mm range. Some parts exceed 10 mm in thickness. Butt and Fillet Welds make up the majority of the work with the latter up to a throat size of 6-8mm. Welding Consumables & Equipment: • Main chassis beams: ESAB OK AristoRod SG3/G4Si1 • All other welding: Bohler G3Si1 • Wire diameters available: 1.0 mm and 1.2 mm • Equipment: Two new JASIC welders • Gas: Argo Shield Universal and Argo Shield Heavy • Additional equipment: Acetylene torches and full access to new preparation and finishing tools
