BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - NEWCASTLE
A leading full-service law firm based in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join its Marketing Team. With a national and international client base and a history of excellence spanning over 125 years, this firm has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, partner-led advice with a personal touch.
With a team of over 200 professionals - including 35 partners and 121 fee-earners - the firm works with a diverse range of clients, from large corporations and owner-managed businesses to healthcare professionals, leisure operators, and rural enterprises.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting role reporting directly to the Head of Business Development & Marketing. The successful candidate will play a key part in implementing initiatives that drive growth, enhance market presence, and strengthen client relationships.
This role focuses on strategic targeting of sectors, markets, and clients, aligned with the firm's core values.
Key elements of the role include:
- Supporting the development and execution of firm-wide and departmental business development plans.
- Working closely with partners and fee-earners on structured client development, including leading on client and work-winning initiatives.
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, nurturing long-term client relationships.
- Actively contributing to growing the firm's profile and market presence in line with its strategic goals.
The ideal candidate will ideally have previous Business Development experience, ideally within a professional services environment. Strong communication and IT skills are essential, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and working under pressure to meet deadlines. Excellent attention to detail as well as a proactive, adaptable approach is useful.
