Umm ul Qura Islamic Centre is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Religious Worker to support our spiritual, educational, and community services. The successful candidate will help deliver high-quality religious guidance, pastoral care, and community programmes that serve the diverse Muslim population of Bradford while promoting cohesion, inclusivity, and Islamic values. Key Responsibilities: Provide religious guidance grounded in mainstream Islamic teachings Teach Quran, Islamic studies, and Arabic to children, youth, and adults Offer confidential pastoral support, religious counselling, and family guidance Support the planning and delivery of community initiatives, youth programmes, women’s activities, and interfaith outreach Represent the Centre at local events and liaise with schools, council services, and community partners Ensure all activities comply with UK safeguarding, equality, and health & safety standards Person Specification: Strong foundation in Islamic sciences, theology, and pastoral practice Proven experience in religious leadership, teaching, or community support Excellent communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills Commitment to safeguarding, diversity, and community harmony Right to work in the UK; enhanced DBS check required Fluent in English; proficiency in Urdu, Arabic, Punjabi, or other community languages is highly desirable
