Our client is seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join a growing structural engineering team in Hull. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-end residential projects, from new build developments to refurbishment and affordable housing schemes. It is a split of 80% residential and 20% commercial, with support to become chartered and a salary of up to £43,000 + benefits.
Overview
1. Prepare structural and drainage designs with supporting calculations for new build and renovation projects
2. Carry out structural inspections, report on defects, and recommend remedial works
3. Conduct site visits and attend design team meetings to monitor progress and address technical queries
4. Develop UK residential drainage designs in accordance with current standards and regulations
5. Liaise with architects, contractors, and clients to deliver design solutions that meet project requirements
6. Ensure compliance with building regulations and relevant standards across all design work
7. Assist in the preparation of design reports, planning documents, and project specifications
8. Provide technical support and mentorship to junior team members

Requirements
17. A relevant degree (BSc or equivalent) within Civil or Structural Engineering
18. Minimum of 2 years of professional experience, preferably in the residential sector
19. A proven track record of producing structural designs and supporting calculations
20. Experience of Tekla Tedds and AutoCAD
21. A desire to work towards ICE or IStructE chartered status
22. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage projects and deliver client satisfaction
23. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
