We have an exciting opportunity for an Engagement Lead to join the People team at Yorkshire Water. What we do: Everyone has an idea of what a water company does. Where you fit in: You will manage our proactive and reactive engagement strategy and work with our Change Communications and Engagement Manager to develop and maintain the strategy. You will have one Engagement Advisor reporting into you, to support you. You will work closely with our Internal Communications and Brand team to create, plan, support, manage and evaluate current engagement activities as well as discover future opportunities to help improve our colleagues connection to where they work. You will develop our central engagement strategy for the whole business (covers key areas such as communication and engagement, wellbeing, fun and lifestyle and recognition) supported by establishing a regular reporting schedule to understand whats working and what isnt. You will develop resources to support colleague engagement at an organisation-wide and local level to support colleagues through change. You will be our in-house expert and trusted advisor to engage and support senior leaders to establish and grow engagement within their teams, creating resources they can use to support themselves. You will be the go-to expert on how best and most appropriate ways to engage colleagues in adapting to change. You will be expected to look outside the organisation for best practices and opportunities to improve our engagement levels. We currently have a colleague engagement survey, Yorkshire Voice - you will use this information to produce meaningful insights into how engaged our colleagues are. Then support the creation of a framework for the management of action plans across the organisation. It will be key for you to build measurement into our engagement strategy and make recommendations based on the results. What skills and qualifications you will need: You will have proven experience of creating, developing and measuring engagement strategies across an organisation You will be hugely passionate about people, an advocate of continuous improvement and have a good understanding of colleague engagement, motivation and morale An approachable, confident, front-of-house personality with an ability to inspire and provoke passion for delivering great communication and engagement Excellent stakeholder management skills to develop effective relationships across the business at all levels, leading to the ability to influence senior leaders An understanding of what great communications and engagement looks like with a track record in achieving positive outcomes for people and experience in delivering excellent stakeholder communications and engagement activities, right from planning through to execution Takes an outcomes-based approach to developing communications and engagement activities and experience of applying lessons learned Experience in developing a stakeholder focused plan that supports the goals and objectives of the business Ability to take the initiative, be proactive and to take decisions on prioritising workload for themselves and their team Experience in creating written communications and creative content that supports delivery of engagement plans Ability to analyse and assess colleague engagement data with reporting expertise to help tell key stakeholders how were performing Thinking creatively to engage colleagues across the organisation with proven tools, plans and channels to help reach our colleagues in a way that works for them Experience of managing colleague engagement surveys, producing analysis and developing action plans Lots of experience with key IT programmes (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.) Excellent administration, planning, coordination, and organisational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to develop personal skills whilst supporting team growth You will also benefit from having: Previous line management experience An interest in colleague well-being, development, and behaviour change Previous experience within an Internal Communications team Experience in business change engagement plans We embrace a flexible working model, where our hybrid setup typically requires an average of one day in the office per week.
