If you’re a dynamic education leader who loves working with people, employers and innovation, this is your chance to shape the skills pipeline for the whole Island.

Why This Role Matters Here

The Isle of Wight College plays a central role in supporting local industry, boosting skills and helping learners of all ages reach their potential.

And CECAMM — our purpose-built engineering and advanced manufacturing centre — is at the heart of the Island’s future workforce.

As Head of Learning, you’ll drive quality, innovation and employer-led learning across both areas, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional experiences and outcomes for apprentices, students, employers and staff.

This is a role where you can see your impact every single day — in classrooms, workshops, workplaces and the wider Island community.

What You’ll Be Leading

Apprenticeships at The Isle of Wight College

Where learners go from "I want to do this" to "I am doing this."

You’ll oversee high-quality delivery across multiple sectors, ensuring apprentices, employers and tutors feel fully supported and set up for success.

* Marine Technology
* Future Proof technical skills

You’ll be the driving force behind a centre that feels industry-real, forward-looking and full of opportunity.

Your Day-to-Day (the real version)

* Lead enthusiastic, skilled teaching teams across both areas
* Shape engaging, employer-responsive curriculum pathways
* Build strong local employer partnerships and industry networks
* Champion quality, innovation and inclusive learning
* Ensure smooth, compliant delivery across all Apprenticeships standards
* Support excellent achievement, progression and student experience
* Drive continuous improvement at both the College and CECAMM site

If you’re passionate, collaborative and a natural motivator, you’ll fit right in.

Who We Think Will Shine in This Role

Someone who:

* Loves empowering people — staff, students and employers alike
* Has leadership experience in FE, apprenticeships, or technical training
* Understands how to turn employer needs into brilliant learning experiences
* Isn’t afraid of innovation, fresh ideas or future-facing skills development
* Enjoys being part of a warm, supportive, community-focused college
* Wants to make a real difference to Island learners and Island industry

If you’re passionate, collaborative and a natural motivator, you’ll fit right in.
