Are you an experienced and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant with the skills to support children with challenging behaviour? Were recruiting for a 1:1 role in a welcoming school in Stockton-on-Tees, working closely with a child who needs consistent, tailored support.
Position
* Position: 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant
* Location: Stockton-on-Tees
* Start Date: ASAP
* Hours: Full-time, term-time only
* Contract: Ongoing supply, with potential for long-term placement
Youll work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to provide structured, individualised support to help the child access the curriculum and thrive in a safe, supportive environment.
Responsibilities
* Providing 1:1 support for a child with identified behavioural needs
* Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in a positive, consistent way
* Implementing behaviour strategies and personalised support plans
* Promoting emotional regulation and social skills
* Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals
Qualifications
* Experience supporting children with SEND and/or behavioural needs
* Strong behaviour management skills and calm, patient approach
* A resilient and empathetic attitude
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain)
* Team Teach or similar training is an advantage (not essential)
* A genuine commitment to helping children succeed
