About You
* Senior children’s nurse with excellent clinical, organisational and communication skills.
* Passion for inspiring others and advancing paediatric haematology and oncology care.
* Must hold RSCN qualification and have current NMC registration.
* Existing experience at senior Band 6 or above.
Main duties of the job
As Ward Manager, you will lead the day‑to‑day operations of the Daycare Unit, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, compassionate care. You will work closely with the Lead Nurse for Haematology & Oncology and the Inpatient Ward Manager, coordinating cross‑cover and contributing to service development. The role blends operational management with professional leadership, making you a key driver of change, innovation and excellence in care.

Qualifications/Training
* Registered Nurse Child (RSCN)
* Qualification in specialty specific subject
Experience
* Significant experience in the specialty, with at least two years at Band 6 or above.
* ENB 998 or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification.
* Leadership skills.
* Budget management experience.
* Recruitment and personnel management experience.
Knowledge
* Health & Safety Safe Practices (e.g. Lifting and Handling, Sharps, COSHH).
* Working knowledge of Infection control.
* Current nursing/health issues, quality assurance principles, personnel management and budgetary management.
Skills and Abilities
* Leadership.
* Counselling.
* Teaching.
* Budgetary management.
