Primary Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support for Pupil with Autism – Bournemouth, Dorset Are you an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Autism? GSL Education are seeking a full-time Primary Teaching Assistant (TA) to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism at a nurturing primary school in Bournemouth. This full - time role is set to begin in September 2025. Responsibilities: Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with Autism, helping to meet their academic, emotional, and social needs. Implement tailored strategies and interventions as recommended by the class teacher and SEND team. Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that enables the pupil to engage fully in classroom activities. Encourage the development of the pupil’s communication, confidence, and independence. Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent and effective support. Monitor and report progress, contributing to review meetings and support planning. Requirements: Previous experience working with children with Autism in an educational or care setting is essential. Strong understanding of Autism and associated strategies for support. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children with additional needs. Willingness to attend a school tour prior to the interview process. Availability for interviews over the coming weeks. An Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
