To advance AbbVie's pipeline by striving for excellence in clinical research, turning science into medicine for our patients, and leveraging new capabilities to drive industry-leading performance. This role is accountable for building and leading high-performing clinical research teams who partner with investigative sites for meaningful and effective engagements, striving to position AbbVie as the partner of choice in clinical trials. The individual is responsible for the teams' clinical trial performance, providing strategic planning, oversight, and direction to ensure on-time, within-budget, and quality delivery of clinical studies. They will establish partnerships with internal stakeholders to drive insightful interactions and promote the value of the clinical research team through contributions to the R&D portfolio success.
Responsibilities
1. Responsible for hiring, retention, performance management, mentoring, task assignment, growth, and development of their clinical research team.
2. Provides leadership and oversight to the clinical research team, including but not limited to:
3. performing accompanied visits (on-site and off-site);
4. accelerating AbbVie's priority programs through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders;
5. conducting trend analysis and gap assessments to identify training and developmental opportunities;
6. addressing gaps to help personnel achieve KPIs and metrics;
7. utilizing AbbVie systems and tools to support team performance and mitigate risks;
8. identifying individual needs, removing obstacles, proposing solutions, and supporting successful, on-time study activities;
9. ensuring adherence to regulations, GCPs, ICH Guidelines, SOPs, and quality standards;
10. staying updated on evolving regulations and policies;
11. supporting and overseeing audit and inspection readiness, including preparing for audits and CAPA implementation;
12. managing resources in alignment with research goals and study timelines;
13. ensuring resource utilization maximizes team impact and pipeline delivery;
14. managing budgets and payments for studies conducted by the team;
15. creating an inclusive environment to enable team members to reach their potential;
16. aligning team activities with business strategy and promoting collaboration;
17. leading and supporting the team in understanding and implementing the business strategy and vision;
18. driving change through effective communication and management;
19. participating in or leading global/local task forces and initiatives;
20. identifying opportunities to improve processes and create efficiencies;
21. partnering with research sites and key opinion leaders to position AbbVie as the partner of choice;
22. supporting training and monitoring for assigned TA within an affiliate, including strategy development for site and key opinion leader engagement;
23. collaborating with affiliate teams for pipeline execution within the country or region.
