Contract Type: 31 hours / 38 weeks
About the Role
HSDC is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Additional Learning Support Mentor. In this student-focused role, you will support learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) through mentoring, drop-in sessions, and one-to-one check-ins. You will assist in implementing support plans, contribute to annual reviews, and collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure meaningful progress for learners. Responsibilities
* Liaise with teachers and specialists to coordinate and implement support plans for students with EHCPs.
* Mentor and support EHCP learners requiring 1-1 check-ins.
* Monitor and report on students' progress for annual reviews.
* Ensure safeguarding and promote the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
* Coordinate with colleagues on health and wellbeing interventions, maintaining confidentiality and legal standards.
* Provide excellent service to internal and external customers, aligning with college standards.
Requirements
* English and Maths at least Level 2.
* Customer Service at Level 3 or working towards it.
* Level 2/3 qualification in SEND or working towards it.
* Understanding of barriers to learning faced by students.
* Experience working with students with disabilities or difficulties.
* Ability to use IT systems to record and monitor ALS data.
