Job Description – Senior Maintenance Facilities Shift Technician, electrically biased – In House – Loughton
Day shift 07.00 - 14.00 and 14.00 - 21.00

The building is a diverse organisation with over 4,000 staff, committed to public service and supporting monetary and financial stability in the UK.
The Property department's Infrastructure Engineering team maintains, enhances, and supports the building environment, providing excellent engineering services. Responsibilities include maintenance of primary business functions, capital investments, business continuity, health & safety management, events, facilities, catering, cleaning, post, and travel services, ensuring value for money across procurements.
The department's mission is to maintain, enhance, and protect the building's environment and engineering systems, ensuring resilient services for normal operations.
The Engineering team has fewer than 56 FTEs across three core properties in London & Essex, including a Grade 1 listed Head Office and a modern office in Moorgate. The team maintains and operates all engineering systems, providing 24/7/365 reliable operations across various environments, offering broad engineering exposure.
The scope of services for the Shift Technician includes:
1. Supporting reactive maintenance tasks via IWMS.
2. Updating maintenance tasks in IWMS.
3. Performing daily & periodic checks on building systems to ensure 24/7 operation.
4. Responding to faults and failures, prioritizing responses to minimize downtime.
5. Routine maintenance across HVAC, electrical, public health, fire, and other systems.
6. Proactively suggesting maintenance improvements.
7. Conducting statutory testing on life safety and critical systems.
8. Supporting OEM contractors with maintenance and emergency tasks.
9. Providing data for shift hand-over logs and reports.
10. Participating as an Authorised Person (LV) – Electrical/Mechanical.
11. Completing training and performance objectives.
12. Acting as a Health & Safety ambassador.
13. Ensuring work complies with methods, risk assessments, SLAs, and customer standards.
14. Promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
15. Participating in weekly on-call support rota.
Requirements
* City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in engineering.
* IOSH Operating Safely qualification.
* SC security vetting (provided by the company).
* Experience with IWMS maintenance tools and handheld HMI.
* Experience with HVAC, BMS, Electrical, Public Health, and Life Safety Systems.
* Authorised Person experience at HV or LV systems.
* Knowledge of statutory and compliance obligations.
* Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical, and control drawings.
