Your Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to build and develop a book of business and to design the strategy within Surety Underwriting.
As the Surety Underwriting Leader / Head of Surety, you will build a team that manages underwriting of profitable new business in line with business and portfolio strategies and performance targets for wholesale and international business. You will ensure compliance with internal and external governance standards.
You will motivate your team to secure profitable deals and generate new business through effective selling. You will also develop and implement operational plans, oversee business development activities, monitor and report on business performance, manage stakeholder relationships, and guide and develop your team.
You should have experience in developing business plans, managing a team, and building and maintaining relationships with brokers to optimize profitable growth.
You will spend part of your time working with brokers to identify, discuss, negotiate, and convert new and existing business opportunities. You will hold a senior underwriting license, which you will maintain, and be responsible for coaching others and acting as a referral point.
