Role Overview
The Pharmacy Technician will provide ward-based clinical services across Medicine, Surgery, and Emergency departments. Responsibilities include medicines reconciliation, patient counselling, audit work, and training. The role also involves line management of trainee pharmacy technicians and supports progression toward becoming an Educational Supervisor and Expert Witness.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the provision of safe and efficient pharmaceutical services
* Participate in medicines management, ordering, and discharge processes
* Support technical developments and cost improvement projects
* Communicate with pharmacy and multidisciplinary teams
* Perform final accuracy checks (upon ACPT accreditation)
* Contribute to audit, training, and service development initiatives
* Rotate across clinical areas and support patient-facing services
Required Skills and Experience
* Registered with GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
* Evidence of team working and patient care
* Strong prioritisation and time management skills
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
* Education supervisor or line management experience
