Field Service Engineer (CHP)

Earnings: £70-£80k OTE
Are you a skilled mechanical engineer with a strong background in CHP gas engines / diesel generators and a passion for customer service?
We are looking for a dedicated and flexible Field Service Engineer to join the aftermarket team of a highly respected industry leader..
This is a key role acting as company ambassador and delivering high-quality technical and professional services to the customer. You'll be responsible for providing on-site technical assistance for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems, ensuring every job is completed on time and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
What you’ll do:
* Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of CHP systems.
* Supervise technicians and ensure all site activities adhere to health and safety procedures.
* Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers and provide support to internal colleagues.
* Develop strong customer relationships through professional management and expert technical guidance.
* Create detailed site reports and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Provide service support for both company and non-company products of a similar nature.
* Travel extensively throughout the UK, including overnight stays, sometimes at short notice.
What you'll bring:
* A solid mechanical background with experience working on gas engines or diesel generators.
* Proven hands-on experience with engines such as Jenbacher, Cummins, MTU, MWM, MAN, or CAT.
* Exceptional mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills.
* The ability to produce detailed, high-quality reports on site activities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to supervise others and build excellent customer relationships.
* A flexible and proactive approach to work, with a high degree of self-management.
* A positive, resilient, and team-oriented attitude.
