Job title: CAMHS Practitioner (training post before Band 6)
We have an exciting opportunity to join South Staffordshire CAMHS as a CAMHS Practitioner to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). The role involves completing a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT while working with young people, with 3 days in a clinical setting as part of the study. All clinical work is supervised (1-1) by a service supervisor and a University supervisor (HEI peer supervision). Attendance at University of Derby is required (2 days per week) as part of the course, and attendance is a mandatory requirement of this role. Upon completing the Diploma, you will be employed as a Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner based in the Cannock team to provide assessments and interventions to children and young people accessing CAMHS.
There is 1 post available with the CAMHS Team in Cannock. The induction is planned to start 12 January 2026, followed by two weeks of university attendance commencing 19 January 2026. You must be able to travel to the University of Derby for induction and training.
Main duties and training context
This is a training role within the Children and Young People\'s Psychological Therapies Programme (CYP PT). You will work within South Staffordshire CAMHS, Cannock, providing interventions under supervision while undertaking a programme of training for this role. The training post will equip you to provide interventions for children, young people or families using the core principles of CYP PT practice along with evidence-based interventions consistent with the course you are attending. After completion, you will be employed as a Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner.

Qualifications and experience
Essential
* Registered Mental Health Nurse or HCPC registered professional relevant to Children\'s mental health; training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or within a psychological therapy
* BABCP KSA Route
* Undergraduate degree
Desirable
* Previous CYP PT training (e.g. EMHP, WP)
Experience
* Essential: A minimum of 2 years experience of working with children, young people and families with a range of emotional/mental health, behavioural and specific needs
Desirable
* Experience of working in CAMHS
