Quantity Surveyor - Planned Maintenance
* Location: South London (site-based across multiple properties)
* Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 + package
* Project: L&Q Contract: SHDF
The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a talented Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 Main Contractor within their Planned Maintenance division. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a long-term, secured contract delivering SHDF (Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund) works across a portfolio of scattered properties for a leading housing association in South London.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of planned maintenance and retrofit works across multiple live sites. The programme focuses on energy efficiency improvements and decarbonisation measures within occupied social housing.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Managing all commercial aspects of the project lifecycle from pre-construction through to final account
* Preparing cost plans, valuations, and financial reports
* Subcontract procurement, negotiation, and management
* Assessing and processing subcontractor payments
* Managing variations and change control procedures
* Ensuring cost control and value engineering opportunities are maximised
* Working closely with operational teams to ensure project delivery aligns with commercial targets
About You
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
* Experience working on planned maintenance, social housing, or retrofit/SHDF projects is highly desirable
* Strong understanding of JCT contracts
* Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
* Ability to manage multiple sites/projects simultaneously
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
