Supervisor (Solicitor / CILEx Lawyer) – Motor Injury

DAC Beachcroft is looking to appoint a Supervisor to join our National Motor Injury team.
The team deals with a variety of Motor injury claims from Pre litigation, MOJ, Infant Approvals, OIC, Small track to fast track. The team has a progressive approach and a market leading reputation for not simply tackling the claims themselves from a litigation perspective, but also for tracking and analysing behaviours and trends with a view to providing insurers with bespoke strategies and changing market behaviours.
What you will do
* Direct supervision and management of cases via a team of handlers who support pre litigated and litigated cases.
* Supervise technical strategy, conduct and supervision of claims.
* Deliver training for colleagues.
* Conduct performance reviews, including probation reviews.
* Motivate and engage the team, and oversee their well‑being.
* Ensure files are run proactively and effectively to conclusion, with appropriate SLA and deadlines met.
* Ensure lawyers carry out work effectively to meet the needs of the clients and the commercial requirements of the firm.
* Address and manage emerging risk or compliance issues raised by lawyers in conjunction with the Team Partner.
* Allocate work among the team to meet skills and technical knowledge, ensuring best service levels and commercial balancing.
* Raise and deal with any complaint or escalated risk or compliance issues appropriately.
* Handle a reduced caseload of pre‑litigated & litigated injury claims and achieve measures.
* Maintain awareness of the firm’s strategies and plans.
* Maintain and develop technical knowledge through attendance at training sessions and reading appropriate publications.
* Handle confidential information in line with the firm’s data security protocols.
Who you are
* A qualified Solicitor or CILEx Lawyer with the ability to conduct litigation.
* Demonstrated experience of handling a caseload which includes personal injury, credit hire or similar case types.
* A high level of personal compliance with client SLAs, protocols and KPIs.
* Strong people management skills, including the ability to motivate, coach and mentor team members at all levels.
* IT literacy with a good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
* Prioritisation and organisation skills – an ability to organise time, identify priority tasks and request help when needed.
* Analytical skills – ability to critically examine factual evidence and identify abnormalities.
* Commercial sense – knowing the principle or law and when it is worth pursuing.
* Interpersonal skills – ability to interact with a team, speak to a customer on the phone, and meet a client.
* Resilience – ability to stand ground in telephone negotiations, receive feedback, and manage own caseload with competing demands.
* Positive and approachable role model.
* Aptitude to learn – ability to retain knowledge and apply new skills.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
