Learning Support Assistant (SEN) Specialist Secondary School- Portsmouth Full Time | Term Time Only £13.75 per hour Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist secondary school in Portsmouth to recruit a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a full-time, term-time-only basis. The school supports secondary-aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including autism spectrum condition (ASC), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and associated learning difficulties. The Role: Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND Supporting students with autism, SEMH needs, and additional learning challenges Assisting with personalised learning plans and EHCP targets Promoting positive behaviour using consistent, therapeutic approaches Supporting emotional regulation and social development Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to meet individual needs The Ideal Candidate Will: Have experience working with young people with SEND (school, care or youth work settings) Be calm, resilient and patient under pressure Have a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs Be confident managing challenging behaviour in a supportive and structured manner Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service What Teaching Personnel Offers: Competitive pay of £13.75 per hour Full-time hours, term time only Ongoing support from a dedicated SEN specialist consultant Access to CPD, including Team Teach and autism awareness training All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
