About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic band 7 Healthcare Scientist to join our growing cardiac rhythm management team at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust.
The pacing & devices service has implants of approximately 1500 devices per year comprising CRT, ICD, loop recorders & bradycardia pacemakers. Our dedicated electrophysiology lab runs 10 sessions per week and we have a team of 5 consultant electrophysiologists who deliver a range of EP studies from simple diagnostics to complex 3D mapping with Carto and Ensite for atrial & ventricular arrhythmias.
Main duties
* Provide technical support for both simple and complex device implants.
* Act as the lead healthcare scientist in clinic, providing pacemaker follow‑up for both complex and simple devices.
* Contribute to the EP service, receiving training in EP as part of this role.
* Provide an out‑of‑hours pacing service for emergency admissions.
Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
* IBHRE or BHRS qualification.
* State registration with HCPC.
Experience
* Significant experience in cardiac rhythm management at band 6 level.
* Experience in electrophysiology.
