Job Title: Bar Manager
Location: Prehen Rd, Everglades Hotel, Hastings Hotels
Contract Type: Full‑time
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week (excluding breaks), five shifts out of seven including weekends
About the Company
Hastings Hotels is a family‑owned, luxury hotel group based in Northern Ireland. We own and operate six hotels with over 1,000 bedrooms, a grill bar/restaurant, and a luxury spa. Our focus is on quality in design, local sourcing and people.
Responsibilities
* Manage and motivate employees through effective communication, training and development.
* Promote a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
* Receive payments for beverages sold and record drinks and goods sold to guests.
* Use equipment and bar pumps efficiently, maintaining proper measures and minimizing wastage.
* Support the General Manager with annual budgets and cost management.
* Ensure Hastings quality standards are fully understood, implemented and reviewed.
* Maintain bar stocks, display goods and products to a high standard and order stock as needed.
* Ensure all employees receive appropriate training, coaching and development.
* Ensure the team is knowledgeable about hotel facilities and promotes their sale to guests.
* Assist guests with any reasonable request for hotel services.
* Respond to complaints and find appropriate solutions.
* Maintain effective communication and relationships with other properties, departments and suppliers.
* Ensure bar areas, fixtures and equipment are properly maintained and presented.
* Maintain security of restaurant and storage areas at all times.
* Ensure a safe environment in compliance with health, safety, fire, hygiene and security legislation.
* Seek and continuously develop knowledge relating to the industry sector and competitor activity.
* Assist with recruitment, selection and utilisation of employees to achieve optimum use of resources.
* Ensure compliance with licensing laws, Customs and Excise Regulations and other relevant legislation.
* Carry out the role of Duty Manager for the Hotel as required.
* Any other duties as required by Management.
Qualifications
* Right to work in the United Kingdom.
* A professional appearance.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
* Proven ability to lead a team to achieve success.
* Previous experience in hospitality.
* Strong operational bar experience.
* Good awareness of cash handling, stock control, stock ordering and budgeting.
Preferred Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent with grades A–C in English and Maths.
* Educated to degree level in a relevant field such as Tourism and Hospitality Management.
* Previous experience as a manager in a high‑quality establishment.
