Base location: Head Office Stevenage but role fully remote.
Salary: £79,497-82,638 (pro rata).
Part Time, 24 hours per week. Rota 9am‑8pm Monday‑Friday.
This role predominantly covers both paediatric and adult services.
Key Responsibilities
* The Clinical Director will support the SARC managers and multi-disciplinary staff to provide a safe, high quality forensic, medical, and psycho-social services to children and young people under 18 years attending Mountain Healthcare SARC services.
* Working closely with MHL Associate Medical Director and medical appraisers to ensure Paediatric Forensic Drs engage in regular appraisal and revalidation.
* Supporting the statement review process for Paediatric Forensic Drs and Forensic Nurses undertaking examination in children aged under 18 years old.
* The Clinical Director will provide advice for case management for children and young people attending MHL SARC services, including daily case review.
* The post holder will be part of the senior safeguarding team and support the development of care plans to ensure the service meet the needs of the child and young person in the SARC.
* Supporting Paediatric SARC governance activities aligned with CQC compliance and other national standards.
* Share best practice and drive improvements in care especially in relation to complex case management and safeguarding in children and young people.
* The post holder will be required to undertake in clinical/multi-professional audit and hold the action plans for improvement.
* Develop Forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines.
* Actively working in partnership with external MDTs and Police.
* Point of contact for Police and Social Services to discuss referral pathways.
* Undertaking holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding.
* Supporting the continued quality improvement of the service.
* Working under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements.
* Obtaining consent for Health and Forensic procedures.
Essential Skills Required
* Medical Degree & Completion of Foundation Training + 3 years at specialty trainee level.
* UK full residency for minimum 3 years required for police background checks.
* Membership of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine in Sexual Offence Medicine.
* GMC Registered.
Desired
* Experience in management, clinical governance, audits, safeguarding, expert witness work, Forensic Science Regulations.
* Diploma in Children’s Health.
* Postgraduate qualifications in research.
