Job Vacancy: Sales Manager (Field-Based)
Location: This is a home/field-based role, covering Cambridge, Sussex, Northampton, Bedfordshire, and London
Role Overview
As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving business growth by managing existing customer relationships and identifying new opportunities within your assigned territory. You will play a key role in expanding our product reach and ensuring customer satisfaction from "quote to cash." This role offers a 50/50 split between account management and new business development, with a significant potential turnover of £8 million to £10 million.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and manage business relationships within the existing customer database, while proactively seeking new opportunities through prospecting, trade shows, demonstrations, and other initiatives.
2. Promote and upsell additional company products and services, including service contracts, accessories, outrigger pads, and training.
3. Work collaboratively with internal sales, admin, and operations teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
4. Foster strong, long-term relationships with customers to drive loyalty and repeat business.
5. Drive the promotion of new products within the marketplace to increase visibility and sales.
6. Input and manage customer data in the CRM system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
7. Manage your diary effectively to optimise relationship-building and identify new business opportunities.
Key Competencies
* Proven success in selling within the capital equipment industry (minimum of 3 years' experience) with a structured sales process.
* Resilient and determined with a positive, optimistic attitude.
* Exceptional communication skills for liaising with senior stakeholders.
* Ambitious, driven, and focused on achieving targets.
* Experience managing the tender process and completing tender submissions.
* Highly organised, capable of meeting deadlines and working independently.
* Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills to influence decision-makers.
* Motivated by sales targets with a strong drive to exceed expectations.
* Ability to tailor solutions to meet specific customer needs.
Salary & Benefits
* Competitive salary up to £50,000, dependent on experience.
* Realistic commission structure with potential earnings of £100,000 to £120,000 (take-home).

Working Hours
The role is contracted for 08:00-17:00, with flexibility required to accommodate the demands of a senior position.
