Bid Writer - Social Housing
Stratford - Hybrid
Up to £60k per year
The Role
You will support the development of new business and new opportunities through the tender process, working as part of a team responsible for delivering industry-leading bids.
The ideal candidate will be able to write effective, concise and compelling content, while working well under the pressure of deadlines. You will have experience in social housing planned and responsive works, with a strong commitment to high-quality service, best practice, and continuous improvement.
You will work closely with directors, operational specialists, and technical leads to create high-impact responses that clearly address client needs. Alongside writing, you will manage the bid process from start to finish. You will ensure responses are fully bespoke, compliant, and score highly against marking criteria. Confidence in both giving and receiving feedback is essential, as collaboration is key to winning work and supporting ongoing team development.
Responsibilities
* Assure all aspects of each bid, ensuring outcomes are clearly described in content and presentation
* Manage interaction with contracting bodies and stakeholders throughout the process
* Take full responsibility for bids, including planning, hosting kick-off meetings, coordinating written responses, and sharing knowledge internally
* Work with Business Development and Client Services to interpret client requirements and produce persuasive documents and presentations
* Write and edit high-quality tender submissions to agreed deadlines
Requirements
* Confident verbal and written communication skills
* Experience within social housing or the construction sector
* Ability to interpret tender documents and develop appropriate, tailored responses
* 2+ years’ bidding experience
