Senior Meta Creative Designer + Strategist (Design + Copy)
Ongoing Freelance Role | Shake Up Digital | Performance-Focused

About Us
We're Shake Up Digital, a small but growing New Zealand–based performance-driven digital marketing agency managing a portfolio of ambitious service based brands.

We're looking to hire a freelance graphic designer + Meta creative strategist for ongoing monthly ad creation across our client accounts.

This is not basic Canva ad production.
We're looking for someone who deeply understands the Meta ecosystem and can create high-performing creatives that are built to test, iterate, and scale.
This is a long-term opportunity for the right person.

What We're Looking For
You are not just a designer.
You are performance-minded but creatively fluent.
You understand what's working right now in the Meta advertising world, and what's on the horizon.

You understand:
* Creative testing frameworks
* Hooks and thumb-stopping visuals
* Carousel storytelling
* UGC-style vs branded
* E-commerce conversion flow

You are comfortable analysing existing creatives and building a structured monthly creative testing strategy, not just delivering one off designs.

You're the type of person who:
* Sees gaps in the account and proactively fixes them
* Suggests creative angles we haven't thought of yet
* Experiments with different design styles
* Is comfortable testing bold ideas
* Understands that Meta rewards creative diversity
* You are calm, proactive, easy to communicate with, and confident owning the execution layer.

Must Have
* 5+ years experience designing creatives specifically for Meta advertising
* 5+ years writing high-performing Meta ad copy
* Experience running Meta ads yourself (you understand performance, not just aesthetics)
* Strong graphic design capabilities in ad creation
* Deep understanding of current Meta creative trends and performance shifts
* Ability to create carousels and multi-asset storytelling, not just single images
* Experience in service-based industries
* Understanding of e-commerce psychology and conversion flows
* Performance-minded approach to creative strategy
* Independent thinker who can think outside the box
* Comfortable experimenting with different styles and angles
* Fluent English (written and spoken)

Bonus:
* Experience with AI-powered video ad creation and editing tools
* Experience expanding creatives into Google display/banner ads

What You'll Be Doing
* Creating ongoing Meta ad creatives each month
* Writing primary text, headlines, hooks, and variations
* Analysing past creative performance with Marketing Manager
* Suggesting new angles and creative testing strategies
* Building structured monthly creative plans
* Iterating based on performance data
* Potentially expanding into Google display/banner creatives

Contract duration of more than 6 months. with 30 hours per week.

Mandatory skills: Copywriting, Facebook Advertising, Lead Generation, Graphic Design, Content Writing, meta creative
