Level 4 Electric Vehicle (EV) Technician
Role Overview
As a Level 4 EV Technician, you will be responsible for advanced diagnostics, testing, repair, and replacement of high-voltage electric vehicle systems. This role requires a high level of technical competence, strict adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to support other technicians with EV-related work.
Key Responsibilities
* Advanced diagnostics of high-voltage EV and hybrid systems
* Safe isolation, testing, and recommissioning of high-voltage systems
* High-voltage battery testing, repair, removal, refit, and replacement
* Diagnosis and repair of EV powertrain, inverter, DC-DC converter, onboard charger, and HV cabling
* Carrying out EV and hybrid servicing in line with manufacturer procedures
* Performing insulation resistance testing and complex EV fault tracing
* Ensuring full compliance with HV safety standards, PPE use, and workshop controls
In addition to EV responsibilities:
* Advanced diagnostics and fault-finding on petrol and diesel vehicles
* Engine management diagnostics, drivability fault diagnosis, and emissions-related fault finding
* Servicing and maintenance of internal combustion engine vehicles, including timing belts, clutches, brakes, suspension, and cooling systems
* Electrical diagnostics across 12V and low-voltage vehicle systems
* Supporting and mentoring other technicians with both EV and ICE technical issues
* Completing accurate job cards, reports, and safety documentation
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
Requirements
* IMI Level 4 Award in Electric / Hybrid Vehicle System Repair & Replacement (or equivalent)
* NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (minimum)
* Proven experience working on fully electric vehicles
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
* Excellent understanding of high-voltage safety procedures
* High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
* Full UK driving licence

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £49,000.00-£56,160.00 per year
Work Location: In person
