About the role
Hertfordshire County Council Services for Young People (HCC SfYP) is recruiting a Careers Education and Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) Practice Manager to manage a team of Advisers that deliver high-quality work and support for young people in Stevenage and North Herts.
The role will include:
1. Leading an area team to ensure best practice, achievement of targets, and quality standards in the effective delivery of CEIAG within a variety of settings.
2. Ensuring that the needs of all clients are met, so that they are able and motivated to engage in education, training, work opportunities, and constructive activities that lead to successful transitions and positive destination outcomes.
3. Developing and responding to new initiatives in line with Service priorities, working towards strategic aims and objectives.
About you
Essential:
* Driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Excellent organisation and administrative skills with good attention to detail.
* Interpersonal skills and ability to performance manage a team to a high standard.
* Ability to understand the barriers that young people face.
* Ability to work towards and achieve targets.
* Understanding the needs of young people and service delivery.
* Good ICT skills.
This role requires a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
Travel and language requirements
You will need the ability to drive and/or travel around Hertfordshire, either using your own mode of transport or a company car to travel to other locations.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. For those whose language is a signed language, the provision of a sign language interpreter who speaks English to the necessary standard of fluency will be required.
