We are seeking an Environmental Advisor to join an independent oil and gas operator in Aberdeen on a permanent staff basis. RESPONSIBILITIES The Environmental Advisor will provide expert advice, investigation support, and proactive intervention, sharing lessons learned from other assets, organisations, and regulatory bodies to drive best practice—primarily focused on production operations. The role involves regular interaction with regulatory bodies, representing the company by engaging with, responding to, and where appropriate, challenging regulatory inspectors. Ensuring full compliance with both company and regulatory environmental requirements is essential. The position works closely with Health, Safety & Regulatory Leads, Technical Safety Engineers, and site-based HSE Coaches. While primarily onshore-based, the role includes occasional travel offshore or to site as required. REQUIREMENTS Experience Required Previous experience as an Environmental Advisor within the UK oil and gas industry. Strong understanding of risk assessment techniques, permit-to-work systems, and key integration processes that contribute to safe working practices. Qualifications Degree-qualified in an Environmental discipline or equivalent experience, with evidence of ongoing professional development. Environmental management system audit qualification (desirable). Membership of a relevant professional body (desirable). Valid offshore survival and medical certification, or willingness to obtain.
