Senior Estimator – Construction (Civil Engineering & Groundworks)
Location: Maidstone
Salary: £60,000 – £75,000 (depending on experience)
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join a well-established and growing contractor operating within the civil engineering and groundworks sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality infrastructure and groundwork projects.
The Role
As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of civil engineering and groundworks projects. You will work closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure tenders are both commercially viable and aligned with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Identify risks and value engineering opportunities
• Collaborate with project managers and commercial teams
• Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings as required
• Ensure all estimates are completed within deadlines
Requirements
• Proven experience in a Senior Estimator or similar role within civil engineering or groundworks
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office
