The Role
To provide pharmaceutical technical services within all sections of the pharmacy department to patients attending or admitted to the hospital.
To support the Senior Pharmacy Technicians in the day-to-day running of dispensary and aseptic services.
To ensure the accurate, efficient and timely supply of discharge / out patient prescriptions, pharmaceutical stock and non-stock supplies to wards and departments.

What we'll need you to bring
1. National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
2. SVQ Level III
3. Registered pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
4. Dispensary checking or aseptic checking qualification
5. Commitment to CPD
6. Minimum of 2 year post qualification experience as qualified pharmacy technician in hospital pharmacy service
7. Experience in dispensing Discharge/OPD/in-patient prescriptions
8. Experience in providing a ward/department stock top-up service.
9. Experience in supervision of other staff or of a functional area of pharmacy.
10. Thorough understanding of hospital pharmacy services
11. Ability to carry out aseptic and cytotoxic drug reconstitution
12. Computer skills/key board skills
13. Good communication skills both verbal and written
14. Ability to organise and prioritise work
15. Team player

Please note this is a fixed term post until March 2027. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Pharmacy within University Hospital Monklands.
The working pattern for this role Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm
