We are recruiting on behalf of an outstanding charity that supports young people with learning disabilities and autism into work. They are seeking a skilled Employability Assessor / Coach for an initial 3‑6 month contract based in Harrow, with excellent prospects of extending into a longer‑term or permanent role.
This hands‑on position focuses on portfolio building, criteria mapping, and mentoring a cohort of roughly 19 young learners completing a Gateway Level 2 Award in Progression. Your primary mission is to help them cross the finish line by gap‑filling and finalizing their portfolio evidence.
Key Responsibilities
* Morning Delivery: Lead a daily 1‑hour workshop focused on “Preparing for Work” (CV building, job searching, and interview techniques).
* Portfolio Assessment: Review and map learner evidence against criteria for Customer Service, Communication, and Preparing for Work units.
* 1‑to‑1 Gap‑Filling: Conduct focused reviews with learners to identify and gather missing portfolio evidence.
* Workplace Observations: Conduct local workplace observations and recorded professional discussions to validate practical skills.
* Daily Reflection: Hold a 3:00 PM group session to review workplace successes and daily learning points.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a qualified assessor (holding a recognized award like CAVA, TAQA, or A1) with proven experience mapping qualification portfolios and a strong background in coaching employability skills. You should possess an adaptable, patient approach suited to supporting neurodivergent learners at a foundational level, with no requirement to teach functional skills.
