Speech and Language Specialist (SSA)

Teaching Personnel are seeking a passionate and experienced Speech and Language Specialist (SSA) to support pupils within a welcoming primary school in the South Shore area of Blackpool.
This role is ideal for someone with experience delivering speech, language, and communication interventions, as well as supporting children with identified SLCN needs. You will work closely with the school’s SENDCo, class teachers, and external therapists to ensure tailored support is delivered effectively.
Role Responsibilities
* Deliver targeted speech and language interventions to individuals and small groups
* Support pupils with communication and interaction needs across the school day
* Work under the guidance of the school’s SENDCo and external SaLT professionals
* Track progress and contribute to reports and EHCP evidence
* Assist in creating resources to promote language development
* Build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working with pupils with speech, language, and communication needs
* Knowledge of common SLCN strategies and intervention approaches
* A patient, nurturing, and proactive attitude
* Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team
* Relevant training (e.g., ELKLAN) is highly desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
