About the Role
The role is a brand‑new Sourcing Manager position within an extremely successful, market‑leading food retailer. It offers excellent progression opportunities and a flexible working arrangement (2 days a week in the office, the rest from home).
Responsibilities
* Develop and manage the sourcing strategy for key food product ranges, working with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers.
* Negotiate cost price increases and implement plans to reduce cost of goods to achieve margin targets.
* Collaborate with suppliers on range and NPD opportunities, ensuring sustainable sourcing.
* Use data and insights, together with internal and external stakeholders, to develop strategic plans that deliver long‑term growth.
* Demonstrate hands‑on buying or commercial experience in the UK food industry, negotiating directly with suppliers using varied tactics.
* Show a passion for customer, product, and commerciality.
* Build strong relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders.
* Apply data analysis skills to identify and act on profit‑driving opportunities.
* Plan, organise, and work independently, showing initiative and a can‑do attitude.
Qualifications
* Experience in UK food retail or wholesale buying, or in a commercial role within an own‑label food manufacturer.
* Proven negotiation experience with suppliers.
* Strong relationship‑building, communication, and influencing skills.
* Good insight and data analysis abilities.
