Senior Project Manager (66kv-132kv Substation)
Our client, a leading consultancy in the Transmission and Distribution sector, is currently seeking a Project Manager with 66kv -132kv Substations experience to join their dynamic team. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to manage large-scale high voltage infrastructure and grid connections, ensuring the delivery of projects from design through to energisation.
Manchester / Yorkshire or Newcastle is where clients offices and would be the ideal locations for candidate hotspots
Key Responsibilities:
Developing HV and EHV project initial functional requirements into compliant, cost-effective engineering solutions
Managing the development and delivery of HV and EHV projects (cable, overhead, plant, and civil) to meet time, cost, safety, and quality standards
Interfacing with customers and internal/external resources to develop and deliver HV & EHV projects
Undertaking the role of CDM Designer and/or Principal Designer for developed HV and EHV projects
Effectively communicating with internal engineering and industrial resources
Coordinating external service providers and administering commercial aspects
Job Requirements:
Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering
Experience managing large and complex HV and EHV substation projects throughout the entire project lifecycle
Strong understanding of electrical transmission and distribution plant items operations, controls, and associated systems such as AIS/GIS switchgear, Protection & Control, Power Transformers, Underground power cables, and Overhead lines
Knowledge of engineering standards for HV and EHV Plant, substations (including earthing and electrical clearances)
Experience in Project Management involving CAPEX and Customer connection projects at voltages from 33kV to 400kV
Excellent understanding of health and safety and CDM requirements for large scale projects
Ability to interpret technical documentation related to the design of electrical substations
